White, Green & Silver Rock - any ideas what it is?

This was a gift, the giver had no clue where it came from as he also got it as a gift.
It weighs 4 lbs, its about 7" x 3.5" x 2.75"
It has a waxy look & feel, but it cant be scratched. The green and white portions have veins of silver (not metal, just silver colored rock) running thru it.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
The 2nd photo is 'auto-corrected' to show the silvery coating a little better. The 4th pic is more real-to-life.

They look like quartz. Quartz does come in more colors than white. JMO

Couple of guys on another forum agree with you: One guy said "Fuschite is a chromium mica; it could present both green and silver colors. Fuschite + quartz = aventurine."
