Can anybody tell me about this whistle? Also found at my 1700's site. I found it last year. It's about 2 inches long. Not sure what it is made out of but I only had to rinse the dirt off.

I don't know anything about it, but thats a pretty cool find!

It appears to be blued...obviouly more 20th century...might be an extractor of some sort...

He means rifle shell extractor. I can see that, but I don't think that's what it is.

If it doesn't whistle, why do you think it's a whistle?

What does the end look like? (the one we can't see). It looks similar to some old slide whistles, except they usually have a removable cap on the slide end.
