ACTUALLY IN SALT WATER - AND THATS EVEN WEIRDER
THE QUARTER ON THE LEFT HAD A BROWN COATING LIKE THE 1940 ON THE RIGHT
SAME AS THE RELIG MEDAL - THERE IS AN AREA AT THIS PLACE WHERE THERE IS A DEEP LAYER OF BROWN DEAD SEA GRASS (ALMOST LOOKS LIKE A PEAT MOSS LAYER) UNDER A FOOT OF SAND - SILVER IN SALTWATER USUALLY TURNS BLACK THEN CAKES UP - THIS LAYER PREVENTS THIS AND CAUSES THIS COLORING - I THINK ITS COOL - THING IS CLAD TURNS SAME COLOR - SO SOMETIMES YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU GOT - I KNEW THE QUARTERS WERE SILVER WHEN I SAW THEIR EDGES - SAW THE HEAD ON THE MERCS - BUT DID NOT KNOW ROOSEY WAS SILVER TILL I GOT HOME AND SAW 1952 DATE
THESE WILL CLEAN UP NICE FOR SALTWATER SILVER

Really nice haul. Congrats on 5 silvers! GL&HH.

Good work on some very nice finds!

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

Your a deadly "Coin-Sniper" for sure bro can tell it by your findings !!!

wow, whisper detecting really pays off nicely

Nice job! I really need to dial back on the discrimination, maybe even go all metal
if a place is loaded with iron - then discriminate is needed of course
but you'd be surprised how many spots really don't need a lot of discrim. if any - that you'd get more depth and deeper finds at with out it
I know guys that keep their discrim. cranked all the time and all the time I get small gold and deep finds behind them hunting in all metal
and I'll only get a few pieces of junk there = so cranking it was unwarranted
I started out as a kid in the 70s using a machine with no discrim. for yrs - I don't mind digging the trash
there are spots that discrim. is strongly needed but if its a spot that you are going to hit on a regular basis - I suggest trying to take it all out - that way you hopefully will get it all

looks like coins I've pulled out of funky New York Harbor. 300 years of tannins, heavy metals, and Petroleum distillates will turn silver pink, purple, black, and bright green. Lol

-Lady Liberty is hot stuff...especially on a coin

I had a school yard like that in the 70s - silver came out purple - pennies came out pink = nickles came out black and clad came out weird colors
we never thought much of it but that land might have had chemicals dumped long ago or something in the ground water

Nice silver haul! Congrats!

Things turn funny colors in salt water for sure! I have quarters in about 10 different colors other than silver!
