Whiskey bottle ID please

Dug this whiskey bottle, would say it is a 5th. gallon size. Has a maltese cross on the front. Around the rim in raised letters is.....Franklin Macveagh & Co. I found a company by this name in Chicago that was in the wholesale grocery business, but what is this bottle?? Any ideas would be appreciated

It would be my guess that he had all sorts things custom labeled under his name as advertisement for his grocery establishment.
