Which wheats are valuable?

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?

LOL Omni! I just came into just about every wheat made I think.. I'm still looking them over. And in the blue book of Linclon cents 1941-1958 what is a double die 1955? the book has 5 slots for them at end of book.

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?

Thanks NE! I got four old rolls of pennies.. as far as I can tell they were all rolled in 1957 and not touched yet. At first I thought they were all the same year ...rolled by the mint but thet are mixed. Yes I took a chance and busted one open!!!!!!!

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?

there may be a few different variety's but that is the mother of DD Penney's (DD means stuck more that once and the dies move giving the a blurry look)are you kidding me i would of ripped them open myself

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?

The 55 double die was an error where the obverse lettering and the date were doubled. (struck twice). There is also a "poor mans" double die where only the last 5 is shifted. (These are much more common and more likely to be found). The original ?double die is very easy to see without a Loupe. The shifted 5 on the "poor man" double dies are a little harder to see.

Dang! Just to have some good clean rolls is awsome in itself. Not dug up dirty and hard to read, very cool!

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?

Trivia Question: What does VDB stand for??? I know the answer to this one because I had one, not a 1909-s though

Re: Which wheat's are valuable?
