Looks like modern .45 ammo that would fit an automatic.

Correct….. .45acp

And that round (in general, not the one you’re holding) has been around since the early 1900s. Was used in the model 1911 and onwards.

To get further into the weeds, it was designed for an auto, but no way to tell if that particular bullet was fired from a revolver with a half or full moon clip (at least I can’t tell). Dad has a 455 webley, and when it was shot (up to about 30 yrs ago) it took 45acp with a clip because of availability and cost of 455 ammo.

Back story on the CBC marking, a Google search on "CBC" returns:

AI Overview

"CBC" stands for Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos, which is a Barzilian ammunition manufacturer and the parent company o Magtech, meaning that when referring to "Magtech Brazil," "CBC" signifies the main company behind the production of Magtech ammunition in Brazil; essentially, CBC is the manufacturer and Magtech is the brand marketed in the US under CBC ownership.

Can't seem to find which pistol this 45 colt ammo went to. Is it a revolver or automatic with a clip? I know they changed gun style turn of century. By the way is there a gun forum on here?
