My last 5 outings to Casino Beach park has netted me 1 walker, 1 silver washington, 16 mercs and 10 silver rosies along with the misc clad and 1 token from a defunct bakery (buddy with me on one trip found barber quarter at 6" also), and I wanna go back but it is so dry that I would end up tearing up the soil and killing the grass to get to any targets. I am trying to wait until we get a decent rain so the grass would not be harmed. Anybody know of any good indian rain dancers available?????? ::) HH all.

Don't know any dances. Mx wife has native american ancestors but I don't think she iis talking >:( how about taking a water jug with you and filling the plugs with water before you put them back. This way you can do 2 things 1. improve your technique by making the smallest hole possible and 2. Find some cool stuff ;) Let us know what happened. Treasure awaits ;D

i cut big plugs - if you dont cut the roots off of the bottoms of the grass - the grass lives - i have planted over 50 trees on my property and have successfully (sp) put the grass plugs somewhere else in my yard - i know this isnt your yard - try around the parking lot edges - i hunted this one place couple weeks ago - wasnt even allowed to try the grass but found some clad in the grown up grass in the cracks of the parking lot and edges - when u r trying to dig a small hole is usually when you cut the roots - if they dont understand - explain it to them - i have seen more litter , glass bottles , dog dookie , goose crap , nails on the surface , cut up aluminum cans that do more damage than a replaced plug it isnt even funny - i get rid of all that crap - so no kid will get sliced up - ;D except the dookie ~ !

I know what your saying Acevillav. 2 weeks ago the water was standing on top and no where to go. Now its as hard as a rock at the surface.

Ground is like cement here in the Northern Kentucky area... at least at the newer sites I hunt. Plus it's getting hot and humid. I'm taking a break for a while!

It has been so dry here I haven't detected in parks for awhile. I tried in the northwoods yesterday but it was in the 90's, humid, and so many bitting flies and ticks I didn't last long.
It now just started raining, coming down in sheets. I hope it keeps it up. There is a big country fest going on here. Monday looks better alll the time.
