Where has all the silver gone? A couple more V's and wheats today...
Hello everyone! I hope you were able to get out for a bit today. Watercolor and I hit one of our old standby groves today. Couldn't resist the warm-up, and swung hard for 5 hours. We started at what looks like a spot that saw some camping long ago, based on our finds at our last hunt there. I got lucky twice, picking up 1900 and 1912 D V-nickels. Also found two 1919 wheats, a salt shaker lid, a bullet and casing, a funky little lead weight, a small bottle cap, and an old tie bar with the letter M engraved on it. I asked Mark if it was his, but he said no.
It sure was muddy! So much for looking at the display screen...
Since my last post, I was able to ID a small black metal button that I found on the same hunt where I found my last V-nickel. Turns out it is a Cracker Jack prize. It says "OH YOU" over a picture of a donkey, or an a$$. Seems a little risque for a kid toy - maybe it meant jacka$$.
Looks like there's going to be some good hunting weather this weekend. Hope you can get out, and HH to all!
