Where are detectors made?

Hi all,
I'm new to metal detecting. I was wondering if some of you could tell me where the major metal detector manufactures make their detectors. So far, all I know is that White's are all made here in the U.S. which is a very strong selling point for them. I think I saw somewhere that Minelab is made in Australia but I'm not for sure. I'm really curious about Garrett, Tesoro, Fisher and Bounty Hunter.

Many thanks!

Minelab is Australia and the last four are U.S. This does not mean that the circuit board is not made abroad...theres a Hong Kong company doing well producing for a major U.S. manufacturer. Biggest U.K. company is C-Scope (Newforce) though there's also Eric Fosters P.I. company Pulsepower Developments, Viking, Red Heat, Fieldmaster, Saxon, Celtic and an old favourite of the past Arado is supposed to be about to make a return. France has XP which has dominated the market for the last couple of years. Germany specialise in deep P.I.'s for land use by Lorenz and Pulse Star. Bulgaria has Notsi and Deeptech. Russia has a few small producers like Pathfinders. Mexico... Deepers. South Africa has the Goldpic (a part assembled P.I. kit), Turkey and China produce much of the cheap stuff on E-Bay and if you buy in bulk will give them any name you want ie Stars and Stripes to make you think your keeping your countrymen in jobs.

Bounty Hunter, is made in Texas, And we always got told everything was bigger and better in texas. LOL

To be more precise, we should say: "Where were they assembled?"

In most brands a lion's share of the components come from China, Taiwan, Japan, etc. I suspect even some brands are having their coils made in Mexico, China, etc.

Some of us here can still remember when American made was really American made all the way through. Those days are gone forever. :'(

Hi !
Surprise!! ;D

Poles do make detectors too. :)
I bet, you've never seen a "Made in Poland" detector before. ;D

It used to be mine first equipment, best at Polish market.
Maybe looks funny, but I found with it my best ever find, very nice and old coin.
I have to add, that the coin was deeply barred.(around 35centimetres )

Maybe it's a spam.... (who don't want to look at it, simply DO NOT CLICK ON A LINK)
But I have to show you this. :)

Actually, if you want to get really technical, there is 3 questions to my original question:

1) Where are the individual pieces-parts manufactured?

2) Where is the final assembly at?

3) Which country is the company located in responsible for the detector?

So, in theory, it could be as many as 3 different countries!!!!
Oh, I just thought of a 4th possible category:

4) Repair/warranty work and after sales support

So theoretically, this could be in yet a 4th country still!!!!! So in reality, when all of White's metal detectors say on them: "Made in USA" what they should really be saying is: "Final assembly in USA" or "USA owned company" or "USA manufactured pieces-parts inside" .... you get the idea...
