Tear out I had such good luck at over the past couple weeks has progressed to where walkways have been filled with sand in preparation for laying new walks. Except for one small portion about a half a block long. The WORST section of walkway, as it is just littered with nails and cinders and what not. The machine goes absolutely crazy in this area. Few people have the patience to work such sections, but given that this will likely be filled with sand in short order, I decided to spend all afternoon and evening mining nails despite the high humidity and near 90 temperatures. It beat me down, but it was worth it!

LCs Obverse 082524.jpgLCs Reverse 082524.jpg

Couple Braided Large Cents. A little rough, but I'll take them. I believe the one is 1851. The other got punched right in the date. Looks to be 1840 something.

Silver Obverse 082524.jpgSilver Reverse 082524.jpg

Some nice silver! Almost discarded the trime as I initially thought it was a rivet head, it was so green and crusty coming out of the ground. Yes, I cleaned it up a bit. 1852 on the trime, 1849 on the half-dime, and 1906-D on the Barber Dime.

Shield Coins Obverse 082524.jpgShield Coins Reverse 082524.jpg

Nice two cent piece and nice shield nickel. Two cent, 1864. Nickel 1867.

IHP Obverse 082524.jpgIHP Reverse 082524.jpg

Oddly, the only IHP today. Nice date, but a little rough.

Love the buckle! And a civilian button to boot, backmark unreadable.

Excellent hunt! Those half dimes don't come up much neither the trimes.

It took a lot of elbow grease but I finally got the trime to look displayable. It is definitely the star of the show. Must have been beautiful when dropped.
