Hello fellow enthusiests ! I got out for a dig at my favorite WW1 site on Friday nite and Sunday afternoon for some relaxing digging. This is the 4th year for me hammering this site and it still continues to give up more .The old guys who told me about this site 4 years ago when I bought my XLT said " It's a waste of time ...we got it all." I bet the spirits of the brave men who once where on this spot laugh when they see me pop out another item they left behind over 90 years ago.Managed to dig 3 cap badges including a rare numbered variant of the 108th Battalion. They switched to a fancier badge before they left for overseas. Also found a collar badge , an excellent 1910 King Edward Canadian dime , Sterling silver swagger stick tip , 2 spoons , .455 webley and .455 Colt spent cartridges, .303 training round unused, no.2 grommet , a Welch's juice bottle, 2 small Randall milk bottles and a bottle with a large B on the bottom . Bottles and spoons I found by raking a small dumping spot that I;ve previously took over 40 bottles , tin cups etc out of.Hopefully I;ll give it another go on the weekend.God Bless and HH..Panz

Don't you just love hunted out parks? At least when they think that they stay away.

congratulations!

Those cap badges are a real prize.

If there's anything around in there, I'm sure you'll find it.

Nice job!

Very cool stuff! I hunt cw stuff with my son but someday maybe we'll be lucky enough to get over there and hunt a ww1 oww2 site.

Very nice! Love the history .

Those hat badges are awesome, I dug a Jefferson Davis hat pin a few weeks ago. I was told the only Civil War troops in this area with that type of Hardee hat badge were the 900 Union soldiers Gen. Segiel brought from St. Louis, Missouri. My GG Grandfather was the principle guide for Gen. Segiel at the battle of Wilson's Creek, Mo. 10 Aug. 1861.
