Hey everyone!
Worked 5 sidewalk strip permissions today and I am beat. Got going at 7:30 this morning and spent the next couple hours picking up wheats one by one.
I started with the most promising house and worked my way to less promising ones. The last house I had permission for today was nearly a bust. I finally got a Wheat as I was wrapping up. Then I got a pretty broken 30s signal I almost skipped and was shocked to find an old, worn Mercury about 6 inches deep!
I kept on and got a mixed 40s signal at 5 inches. I stick my pinpointer in the hole and it was going off but I looked over at my drop cloth and there's a big silver disc, score! Found a silver quarter and wheatie in the same hole.
Talked to one last house and started doing the strips. Didn't have time to finish them today but they told me I was welcome back whenever. Found a couple wheats and a surprise Indian there! The house was only built in 1919 so that was fun for sure.
Here are the totals on the day:
Here are the keepers:
The tally:
-1 GW (42S)
-1 Merc (20)
-1 Indian (03)
-1 KGVI Canadian Penny (43)
-10 Wheats (15, 17S, 25S, 27S, 36S, 41S, 42S, 44S, 46, 47S)
Thanks for looking! Might be my last hunt until Wednesday. I've got a work trip to Calgary. Got a 1911 house permission lined up so I'm packing the detector but am afraid the ground might be frozen solid. Got my fingers crossed.
Good luck all!
