Wheat penny question

As some of you know from the other threads I am a dedicated Revolutionary and Civil War digger.

I however and unfortunately! lol

Bump into a few wheat penny's along the way.

I was just curious, I have desire to collect them and as I mentioned before they are a bit of a nuisance to me. (no offense)

Maggie and I sat down last night and counted out 6 month wheat penny collection dulast year.

I came up with this.


1910-20------26
20's----------20
30's-----------34
40's-----------140
50's-----------310


I'm just curious what a fair price would be to sell them.
I never rub or clean a coin so they need to cleaned.
I didn't check for key dates.
The only wheats I kept that were visible to the eye were the 1909's and 1914's

I had friend from T-net offer 22.50 Is fair for him?

Value is determined by each coin's condition, year, mint mark (if any), scarcity and demand.
Without that info, it's a 'crapshoot' for both parties.

Any buyer would be primarily looking for key/semi-key dates. Since you have already stated that there are no 1909 or 1914 dated coins the chances have been significantly reduced as far as finding a key/semi. Also, they need to be cleaned but must already be clean enough to establish a date.

I think 22.50 is fair for a friend but if there is shipping have them pay it. Must be close to 3 pounds for all, thankfully there is flat rate shipping.

And just to be sure in every dated baggy I slipped a small dug relic from Rev war to early 1900s.

It's for his little daughter any way.

Wheaties in bulk can be purchased from coin dealers for 2 to 4 cents each...

Like you, I have a collection I started for each of my grandkids, but for the most part, they are a pain-in-the-you-know-what...

Other than searching a bucketful to fill a hole or 2, now what? The dealer doesn't want them back, and if he does, you might get a fiver or maybe a trade for something...

If you've got a buyer...sink the hook and dump whatever you got...

And don't clean them...

No I never clean many artifacts. I loves the patina
