Civil War period scabbard tip finials... (There are similarly shaped cap pouch finials as well.)

I FOUND ONE ALMOST JUST LIKE IT NEXT TO A VIRGINIA BATTLEFIELD WITH THE SAME LINES I ASSUMED THAT THEY WERE RIFLING MARKS.

Yes to rifeling marks, and the others look like what we used to call picket bullets, but I have forgotten why. Bob

Question, are you sure whatzit #1 (the so called carved one) is lead?
I can't tell it's weight from the picture, but it looks a lot like a fossil of some type I have seen before, but can't put my finger on. It would be part of a stem of a plant or maybe a coral. If it is not lead, then it is not a bullet, but could still be heavy. Maybe you should cross post it to the fossil section of the forum.

Thanks PBK for the scabbard tip i.d.. Littleneckhalfshel, thanks for the suggestion. I scratched a spot on the bullet, it is definitely lead.
