It's essentially bullet shaped with a slight raise on the butt of it, will take a couple more shots when I get home later to help though.

I don't think so, it feels like it's solid steel and that pin was iron...

I'm thinking it's a point off a drilling head.

I see the striations in the tip, which to me doesn't indicate a bullet.

I can't easily find a pic on google, so I'm just suggesting maybe off a directional drilling rig, water bore drilling, oil exploration, or similar.

Do you mean a Carbide rock drill button?

But it's not tungsten carbide and none of those that I can find have pins on them. Plus, the location wouldn't lend itself to have one used there. Thanks for you feedback though, it seems to be on the right track almost.
