I'm almost certain that is hand forged but not holding it in my hands it hard to say for sure. It looks like a handle off of something could have been a number if things fireplace poker, small over peel, kid spanker I'm not sure but I really like it. Nice find

Yes-definitely a hand-forged piece..and my...what a gorgeous example of a quality, hand-made item. Not sure myself what it is either, but a definitely love that attention to detail..That's when things were made with pride..made to last..probably near a century old, probably older, and look how beautiful it still is. Clean it carefully and apply some oil or wax and let it age another 100 years. Thanks for sharing jopher! great piece. ddf
