Old core drill. Any mines around? also some of the old carbide batteries looked something like that.

Either of you know where I could possibly find pics of the battery components? Although, with the area that I am in, I could possibly see where it might be a core sample.

Did you find it with your detector? It looks like bone.

Yeah, picked it up on the detector, although it's not solid metal. There seems to be just enough metal content to set it off.

It's a carbon rod from the center of a battery

Dig until your arm falls off

Thanks for all of your guys' help, it would make the most sense for the location and conditions that this is part of a carbide battery! Kind of cool to think about something like this being in the dirt near my place! :occasion14:
