Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

i have the regular lesche trowell, and it is really good quality stuff. you should be happy with a lesche tool.

Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

There used to be a stainless steel trowel made by Wilcox.
I could pry out a Mac truck with it.
Don't know if they are still being made but one is all you would ever need.

Is this the tool bk?

RON'S DETECTORS sells them. They run about $28 with shipping.

Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

Badger,
That was one similer to the one I had but was shorter. I can't find the one I had, but I am using what I thought was a Wilcox trowel.
So this morning I went and dug it out of my mess of tools and noticed that it says "Treasurewise". I must have won this as a prize at a MDing hunt because I don't remember buying it.
Give me a while and I'll take a picture of it and post. (First I have to clean off the mud cause I just got back from using it). Got a seated dime using it today too but thats another story.

Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

Badger,
Here is the one i'm using now. It says "Treasure Wise" It's made of stainless steel, Model T-12.
I have been able to pry out rocks the size of bricks with it.

Oh yes, RON also has these this size on his website.

I like that Treasure Wise stuff. I bought thier headphones for my Tesoro. They're great.

A SEATED DIME!!!!! Man 0 Man! I've got to move down south, west, or somewhere. I sometimes wonder if there's a single seated coin buried in this entire state.

Congrats,

Badger

I use the treasure wise and I like it very much you won't go wrong if your looking for a strong digger ;)

Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

Badger , If you need something stronger in a pinch, most garden centers including Home Depot sell solid aluminum garden trowels with no welds or rivets. They are fairly thick so they will not cut as nice but they are very strong and you can easily sharpen or reshape them with a grinder. Also if you happen to hit your target the aluminum is less likely to gouge other metals...H.H....Joe

Re: What's Wrong With This Spade?

Just make yer own tool Badger! A little stainless pipe & flat bar, grinder & tig welder and your there! & you can make em way better/stronger than those Lesche's & Gators! I'll send the blue prints right over to you!

Oh man, that looks like one awesome mean machine! I'll bet that puppy won't break!

We have lots of nasty rocks and roots here.

I'll try one of those.

I need a digger now so I'll pick one up Monday.

It's always good to have a backup anyway.

Thanks

I think that is the same as the one that I have. I would have to look though but I think mine does have markings on it for measuring depth. Otherwise it looks very similar. Or is that the back of my Predator??? Similar to others that I have seen but better quality steel and a little beefier than others. I didn't use it much before seeing the Lesche Predator that I really like better. I do still carry them both around in case one would be better suited to something than the other. I liked the Lesche because of the serrations on the edge for cutting roots.

I have posted this photo a few times. Sorry to those who have already seen it...
