Found this today. Looks kind of like a gun part? There are no threads in the hole. Seems to be made of brass.

That's what I thought, but the bit I was thinking of moves

With the hole in the round part it looks like something to help prop a window open, as if a bar would go into the hole. just my 2 pence worth .
