Dont give up. Rear brake shoes can be tricky. Hard to put on the springs without special tools. Make sure you do one wheel at a time so you can look at the other for proper assembly. You will find replacement of the front pads to be much much easier.mojjax said:Thanks Steif . I was thinking it might be automotive .
I try to do my own auto repairs to save money . Last week I installed rear brake shoes on my Ford Ranger - It was a Nightmare ......it took me 3 days .
It took day 1 just to get the drums off !! I was using a BFH and pry bars . very frustrating . Then , when I got the new shoes on ......the drums wouldn't fit back over !! I finally got it to work on day 3 .bigcypresshunter said:Dont give up. Rear brake shoes can be tricky. Hard to put on the springs without special tools. I have a K-D hydraulic valve lifter (tappet) remover in my toolbox, just not as heavy duty. Good to have.
