One of my hunting buddies found this brass looking thing yesterday and we're trying to identify it.

One of the guys says its molded lead but looks like brass to me.

Anybody have an idea what this might be?

All I know is what I've posted. As i wrote in the beginning this was found by a hunting buddy. I have limited contact with him as he lives in another town. I will try and answer your question as soon as I can. If the holes go all the way through what would it be in your opinion? or what would your opinion be if they don't go all the way through.
Do you have an idea DC or r you just asking questions for the sake of asking??

if the holes go through I would surmise a backing plate for hinge or bracket of some desription

I have some experience with metal casting, and if I needed a bunch of those round things I would cast several at a time by joining the pattern impressions together with a shallow groove called a runner, and then pouring the mold. After cooling the individual pieces are cut apart. This piece actually looks like a rough casting for 3 stepped bushings.
