What's this start?

Found this key and the little "chain" it is on. Looks old to me

On the front in the red circle it says FORD in fancy letters
On the back it says 54

The back of the key is flat, that is it has no groove cut into it like the front does.

So what's this key start? Besides a Ford I mean......

Re: What's this start?

Ford Model A or Model T... I can't remember which one number (51) went to...

Oh wait... let me do a search!

Yes... PBK says: "It's a Model T switch key, c. 1909-1927. Numbers ranged from 51 to 74.

(Similar keys, but with numbers 101-124— i.e., 50 added to the Ford key number— were made for Dodge switches.)

Nana had found a Model T Ford key not too long ago. I helped ID that one. Nice find, Larry!
