Whats the odd thing you like to find?

Anything really old with writing on it...

Elongated pennies. I had never seen one before I started detecting and had picked up three or four before I realized what they were. Now I have quite a collection and I consider it a good hunt anytime I find one.

Boy or cub scout neckerchief slides. Had never found one then found 2 within a couple of hours.

I like tags or tokens. I found an old brass baggage tag from a railroad firm that was prevalent here in the 20's. I'd love to find a chauffer's tag, or a cabbie tag, but I doubt that will happen because I try to stay out of urban areas. I'd love to get a couple silver thimbles.

Antique Whiskey Caps!

Antique Whiskey Bottles are even better (especially if they still have a cap so you can find them) I found a partially full bottle of circa-1890 whiskey in a trash pile, metal stopper and everything. I went to dump out what looked like water in it down the sink when I smelled the strongest most nose burning smell ever, like pure alcohol and mothballs. The smell stayed in the house for around two days. I still have the bottle with some whiskey inside that never came out of the bottle, it stays WITH the metal stopper on at all times because when you take it off the smell comes back.

I'd like to find more things with old pics in them cameos charms necklaces so far I've only found this one but it's one of my favorite finds ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1426793537.813875.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1426793565.746230.jpg

I seem to come home with many odd things(iron) I cant identify but always laugh when the Merry Widows can or lid pops up.

I like finding old advertising tokens. Back in the day companies sure took pride in making sure their brand stuck in your head

Wow, That thing is awesome! I would expect the photo would be gone by now. I think it is a mourning brooch. I love the personal connection with it

It has some kind of poly over it it seems very fragile I displayed and try not to touch it
