Hey all- just wanted to throw this out there for fun...if you could ask the man from the north pole for any artifact for Christmas, what type would you like to find in your stocking Christmas morning? I'll start, mine is a toss up...either a 4 inch table rock or a 4 inch plus hardin. Ok, I said can only pick one...my wish list says hardin...what's yours?

Good thread! I think I would have to go with a 5-6 inch Graham Cave made out of heat-treated Maynes Creek.

I'd want a effigy pipe. But if we're talking points, it would have to be big Paleo made from either Obsidian or KRF.

Man, both you two have me thinking...what about stone, i would ask for a true iowa keokuk axe...about 9X5 inches, with fluted sides! Come on Santa, Iv'e been a good guy this year!!

Before say a point, I want a brand new field mold-board plowed that no white man has ever walked and is plumb full of artifacts. :headbang:

Since you're asking:::

A cache of 2 dozen or more 4"-5" complete blades
A whole, fully engraved catlinite pipe
A sweet crescent winged banded slate bannerstone
A effigy clay pot full of beads
7" cumberland
4" turkey tail
2-holed gorget with tally marks

Figure I should throw options as not to limit myself :blob7:

Cumberland was the point I was thinking of too!

Bannerstone & Gorget could fill my stocking as well!

This one recently sold for $241,500 :o (I would probably have to get rid of one)

I would love to find a place to look for artifacts again................and the time to do it!

Matt

You mean besides the winning lottery ticket? Top of the list would be a complete catlinite pipe. Bannerstone, Clovis, Finely polished celt, the list goes on.
