Trying to ID this for a friend. He said he thinks it is lead but I think not because it appears to have a soldered on attachment for some sort of electrical connection like a stacon. Not sure if lead would be a good conductor, but if it were part of a battery, maybe??? It was dark and late when I looked at it so I could not at the time ascertain what it is made from.Looks beaten up on the other end. Part of an automobile electrical system would be my guess but just not sure. Any help would make him happy. thanks again,

Pictures 2 and 5 look like it may have been slotted so it could be turned with a screwdriver.Maybe that can jog someones memory as for me I'm baffled. My guess on the metal is copper.Although it could be the end of the kind of fuse seen at the bottom of this picture.Fuse_Panel510-DFs.jpg

Lead is a very good conductor. I think you are on the right track with an electric component.

Try to melt the edge with a soldering iron. If it starts melting...lead or lead based alloy.

No slots on it, but it does look beaten over like a cold chisel mushrooms. Not like any cartridge fuse that I have seen, but maybe an early one??
