The pic was from an old TN post. At least 2 others were found. Ill try to find the old threads but it may be hard.

This one shows up in google images as an old eBay sale - the listing is gone now.

Albert, sure as the world I remember seeing a pic and reading an article some years ago about this token. All I remember for sure is that it is circa 1883. I wish I could remember more about it, dawg on it.

Yes the back is the same as posted by Brambelfind, Its not a token but a medallion Id say. Between the size of a quarter and a nickle.

Given it's size, it may be a zipper pull. I don't think it's a token - there are no words/ads/numbers on it.

It's cool but I don't think it's a token. Looks like a decorative item. Almost looks cast. One thing for sure, it's OLD!!, Tony

If this is a zipper pull, then it would most likely be from after 1917. Here is why.

History of the zipper ~

Elias Howe who invented the sewing machine recieved a patent in 1851 for an "automatic continuing closure device". He did not actively market it. Forty-two years later (1893) Witcomb Judson marketed his "clasp locker" which was a hook and eye fastener. With the financial support of Colonel Lewis Walker, Judson launched the Universal Fastener Company to manufacture the new device, which had it's debut at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. It however was met with little commercial success.

The modern "zipper" was not designed until 1913 by Gideon Sundback. The patent for the "Separable Fastener" was issued in 1917. The popular "zipper" name came from the B.F. Goodrich company that used Sunback's fastener on a new type of rubber boot or (golashes) and from then on the name stuck.

Early uses for the zipper were for closing rubber boots and tobacco pouches.

I agree it not a token. More like a medal or medallion. This is something that should be identifiable and make a good thread because so many have been found.

Im thinking besides zipper pull, it could be from a hanging medal. Maybe a horse medal or farm club or Grange. I wonder if it could be from a fob like those pictured in my 1909 Sears Roebuck?
