What's around Chattanooga?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience rock hounding in the Chattanooga, TN area either going up the west side of the Tennessee River thru Hamilton County or up the east side of the river going up into Bradley County? What might I find in my area? Thanks.

I know there are some amazing agates in TN, thought I don't know what is in the Chatt area. I would google agate, or gems & minerals & also fossils for your co. That's usually a good start. & if you can find a rock shop run by an "old timer" that is always a wealth of info. I am driving through Chatt in the next couple days. I have such a hard time not stopping at all the road cuts to chk them out for goodies. Good luck! May your finds be many and your pockets be full.
