I found some old topographic maps my my town and came across a "Driving Park" that was around from 1904-1950's. It is now a residential area. I have uploaded a map overlay. You can see the black oval area that is the Driving Park, and the yellow streets are current streets and homes in the center of the map.

Does anyone have any idea what a "Driving Park" may be? Would it be worth it going door to door in the neighborhood and asking permission to hunt their land?

if you think people might let you dig in their front yard maybe.if it is a old area ,I would say yeah!

So I found out a Driving Park was a racetrack for Harness racing. 11harness.xlarge1.jpg
So I'm thinking that the higher class would have gone to the races, which means there could be some good stuff in that ground... That is IF the land owners let me dig up their lawns!

Would you know what a Driving Park was???
I think I answered that question in my first post:laughing7: I just typed it in and the first words i saw was, residential area.I agree with ivan, you know allot of money exchanged hands there.good luck
