What type of stone is this

Kind of looks like volcanic glass. But it also kind of looks like hematite. Tough to say. Give it a good wash and see maybe the jeweler would know what it was. I'm definitely no expert. Just googled similar looking rocks. Either way it's a really cool find. Especially if you can get it really clean.

It was in a field, was metal detecting dug quite deep to find the detector stop beeping once we pulled it up, beeped again when we hovered it over.

What happens when you put a magnet to it? does it feel heavy. light or about normal for its size?

It’s heavy, I haven’t tried a magnet yet.

Apperantly its slag glass, that’s all I’ve managed to find out.
