Any ideas?
Less than two inches long. The shank is a bit odd, why not make it the same shape right down the barrel?
I went over this closely, no markings.

Has some weight to it. Not a typical desk lock, etc.

Any thoughts??

From the nature of it, I'd suggest that it look like a valve key, or a tap key.

My guess would be a safe, or strong box. That's one heavy duty lock that went to.:icon_scratch:

Pocket door key. If it isn't frozen you should be able to twist the bow part and the key will extend and collapse. The pocket door escuchon often had a recessed area and you could collapse the key and leave it in the lock when it was unlocked.

Yup, cool find, we just searched all over town trying to find one for an old house we were working on...
