Found this yesterday in this 1880's mining camp. Seen much larger modern ones that were used for shingling. Never this small though. IMG_0999.webp
 

That is a old, well used roof hammer/ hatchet. They were used to put on wooden shakes. One side for the nail, turn it over to split the shake. Nice find.uploadfromtaptalk1456072745491.webp THE nouch is for pulling nails
