I have a few artifacts made from it. They are the 2 towards the top of the pic.

...Just flint? At least the way I was taught there is just 'flint' and chert. There are no varieties of flint. :)

I saw a site that called it different names. Some of the names were Alibates and Flint Ridge. I was wondering cause this one has some nice colors in it not like the other types I have found which are usually gray or black. And I read there is no difference in chert and flint.

From a geologists point of view it's just flint.
From an artifact collectors point of view there are many types of flint. And not all of them are flint.
On my semi-smart phone now, so don't have bookmark list handy, one site was something like lithicsourcesdotcom. Should be able to find on google. It had a pretty nice list of types of lithic material by state, some with pictures.
Archeologists might call it skunk flint but a geologist would just call it black and white flint.
I think in general that the correct name is the one used in the locality where you live.

Thanks I will look. So skunk flint isnt just black and white then? Cause this is purple, pink, yellow and a gray blend in color. Kinda all mixed in like a blend. It is the brightest flint I have found yet. But I do love the black and white. Thanks, rock

I was just using the black and white flint as an example of local names. The other colors probably have different names and are from different formations.
While I am interested in lithic rocks, my knowledge is all local.
You might check the artifact board for the correct name for your style of flint.
