What type of coin is this?

The coin is fairly heavy - almost looks like a Spanish milled dollar, but the back has a strange figure on it. The character on the front resembles Carolus. The only markings that are legible are roman numerals II in about the 1:00 position. I think 1801 is the date, but cannot make it totally out.

Why 1806? I left that part to the poster (thinking 1801 so 1807)

your know its either a 06 or 07, I think I see the shadow of the 6, do you see a 7?

I didn't look at all. He said 01 so that was enough to assume it must be 07, not 06. I took a look and don't see much, but didn't try to compare to the others. A big ole warn Georgie is a good enough ID for me at this point. :thumbsup:

I was just being picky, as an 06/07 are basically identical (most common type, mass produced).
