It's a 22 cal. Cartrage Octagon barrel . Like some help with age

Looks like part of the breech block is missing, or stuck open.

It's a Flobert for sure, they were a pretty common cheap Belgian import in .22 and .32 rimfire.

It is a trapdoor style. You insert a round, lock that swiveling piece down. Pull back the hammer and fire. Then you unlock the swiveling piece, clear the breech, and start the process again.

Do you Know in what time period Folbert Rifles or Pistols Were most common.

I ask cause I found a bunch of fired Folbert 22 Cases & 1 Complete Misfire.

There are no Head Stamps on the Cases, I read a 'U' would have meant Indian Wars, & no Stamp Could Be from the civil war period.

They were found in an area with Civil War Relics up to stuff from the 1900's.
