Got the same thing here also. Can't wait for spring so I can see dirt again.

Just wondering how many months out of the year do you guys have where you can't realy dig at all? That would drive me crazy.

Here in Maine I can count on a solid 4 months minimum of no digging! It's been unusually cold for this early in the winter. It was -11 on my way to work Tuesday morning. We've got about 2 feet of snow already as well. You just have to look at it as research time. Or you go on vacation :-) going to Cozumel in March. Not sure I could handle these winters without a break

Funny you say that Perses, I've got one not 1/8 mile from my house that I've never hunted. This spring I will check it out. Wondering if skating rinks would be any good? A couple spots they flood in the winter for ice skating.

Same here...sigh, and my Garrett Pro-pointer just came! I hate snow!

Are y'all gonna hate on me if I tell you I might get to go detecting today? <<< Hides under the desk.

Last year I actually went out in the snow...was cold, disgusting, messy...but I it was productive pulled my first half, first standing liberty quarter and several other silvers. Don't know if I can do it again....it was pretty bad lol.

A very beautiful scene

Esp, this time of year.
So in those parts Nature ( puts a hold on most detecting for a few months)
So could this coupled with more history & population be a couple reasons Awesome Relics are
still often dug in the NE. US? ...Hmmmm

If it were to snow that much here -Life would almost STOP for at least a week.
It's been years since I have seen more than 2 inches of snow on the ground for more than a few hours. It would be nice to have a snow like that but i,m sure it would get old after 3 or 4 days.
Merry Christmas. Davers....

no snow here but ground is frozen. only been two weeks and going nutz. want to go dig so bad.

Luckily where I live the snow melts very quickly and I can get back to it within days

Looks really familiar. I'm way up here and Plattsburgh, NY and we got about 6 inches of snow during the big storm last week. The permafrost has now set in, making it impossible to break ground without a jackhammer. Cabin fever setting in, detector put away, stir crazies starting! Need to dig, need to dig, need to dig. I wonder if the concrete in my garage is softer than the ground? Hmmm.......

We have the same thing here in Northeastern Pa. This weekend is supposed to warm up though. Unfortunately, I work weekends so it's like I am being teased, lol. Every time I drive by the cornfields I was hunting, I wonder how much depth I would be losing if I detect in the snow.
