Just wondering what kind of farm equipment or what? Obviously hand forged and forged TOGETHER, as no way to separate. Not a chain...some kind of crude hinge? Any ideas? From civil war campsite, but also a working farm for the past 150 years!

By the way, each piece is about 2" long . . .
 

No idea. Just not enough there for me to take a guess. Cool find though!

I think you're right about it being a hinge from a post gate, the spike ends would have been longer, but have rusted off.
