Found this in an area where I’ve found Confederate items. My first thought was that it was the grip from a boot pistol, but now I don’t think so. It appears to be heavy brass and has a feather design molded into the back curve. Also, the hole goes all the way through. So does anybody know what this is?

I think the boot pistol or one similar is correct my uneducated opinion

A boot pistol grip seems to be the most logical choice.

The problem is the hole in the top of the 'handle', it doesn't appear to be threaded to accept a screw to hold the barrel to the grip.
From what I can see, there's no evidence of a trigger guard either.
So I'll thinking maybe a handle from a bone saw or possibly from a wood working tool of sorts. :icon_scratch:

It also reminded me of a boot pistol, but as antiquarian said the attachment looks funny, so I’ll go the the blade handle theory. Nice find!!!!!!!!!!!
