I was digging in a spot that use to be a landfill
and came across this strange looking thing, it
kinda looks like a coin, when looking at it from
different angles I can see numbers and what looks
like someone holding a spear, maybe it's my imagination
but I swear I can see symbols and markings on both
sides, I have no clue on this one lol
was about 4" made of lead, heavy, I have never
seen a coin with a hole in the middle and an "S"
in the hole, so that's why I'm thinking it may not be a coin.
Thanks for any help
HH

Looks like a drapery weight to me, they usually have a str8 line in middle to sew through into the hem of drapery to allow the drapes to hang tight and str8.....NGE

Agree, most likely a curtain or hem weight. Your centre bar is bent. Appears that they sometimes have numbers stamped on them. Perhaps the weight?

I agree is it a hem weight, but think it 'could' have been field made for a coat or cloak. Since the center bar is curved instead of straight, and the surface is bumpy, it appears it was hand poured (Mammy-made) in the sand. . . .another Civil War camp boredom project and/or necessity. Neat find  Breezie
