It's the old look in the hole trick rock. You tell someone to look in the hole and then you smack it on the other end.....and run. The prerunner of the ol black eye looking glass trick.

I would guess it was some kind of weight like one for a fishnet? If it had anything to do with the fort I sure wouldn't have a clue. Monty

wow thanks justine,that would be fine with me if thats what it is,because i had no idea what it was.i dug it out and only when i was filling the hole back in did i notice the hole in the end of it,lots of Indians around this area back in the day

Not a banner stone--a fishing weight would not be in that area--are there marks on it--if native American then you would be able to see the carving in it--just my opinion

I'm no expert but I've been an artifact hunter since I was 16 and this has got to be something special. If you would like real expert to look at it there is a man in the tiny (about 50 people) historic town of Bentonsport Iowa. Google it and you will find the number for a city rep who will give you his name and number if you ask for the arrowhead man. I don't want to put the man's info out on the internet, I doubt he'd be pleased with me.
