What the heck is this? Button or Pin?

Hi folks, I am new to this site and so glad to find it. I found this whatever it is a few years ago metal detecting around an old house place. It is made of ceramic/porcelain/china and the pin back is so rusted and corroded I can't clean it. Can anyone here help? TIA

Some early politician or perhaps a advertising pin of some type. (I believe it to be the latter.)
I would guess the pin dates from around 1850 to 1900, perhaps a little later.
Very nice find. What is size? AND welcome to the forum! (do you have any history of area found?)

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. It is a little over 1" long and it has been so long since I found it, I just remember we were metal detecting (hubby and I) and that has been over 10 years ago. I thought about listing it on Ebay, but am scared I won't get its worth (if any).
