Hello,
I have this piece posted in the “Todays Finds” section with some other stuff but I thought that I would toss it up here also. It was found on a farm that also had once been a Civil War camp. It looks like there may have been another loop that has broken off across from the remaining loop. Does anyone know:
A. What the heck it is, and what was it used for?
B. Is it period to the Civil War

Thanks

JimK

I think its a "tie down" but ive been wrong before lol---you would pound the spike into a tree or wood, with the hole being for rope. You could tie horses and etc. up :icon_thumleft:

one halve part of a set of dividers ...the wheel was basically mated with a screw to adjust the wideness between the two legs
