Tone audio in C&J mode, backlight and ground grab. Watch the whites videos on the MXT/ MXT Pro and he explains all the differences, but those are three main ones. From what I have read what coils come standard on each is another difference. MXT- 950 concentric, MXT PRO- 12 concentric, MXT ALL PRO- D2 DD.

Yep he nailed it, you can get tone audio in relic mode you just need to start up in C&J then select tone ID then change to relic I believe. HH

In wanting an MXT pro but honestly am liking the MX-5 so much not really sure I need one. Start with this video and watch all 4 from whites. I learned a lot about the differences. Honestly the relic mode on the regular MXT is a 2 tone mode and about all I ask for when coin and relic hunting. My soil is very mild so ground grab not really necessary. I would miss the backlight though.

I already had mine before the pro came out, if anything I'd like the tone ID's because the only time I'd really need the backlight is if it was dark enough to need my little headlamp to dig the target and I can detect in the dark and see the screen with the red light then switch over to white for digging and looking for coins. HH

Well I guess I'm going to try a Pro out. If it is at least as good as the mx5 and little better balanced I know I'll like it.

I wish Whites would discontinue the standard mxt. We really don't need 2 of the same basic detectors.

I like the ideal of two almost the same detectors as if one was going to buy new they might not want to spend an extra $100.00 for the extra tones and the regular MXT is still a beast. One feature that would be great to catch on is having a switch so that all loud targets are deep ones and all shallow targets are the quiet ones, this would be great at those pounded old parks where all the old silver is really deep. Everyone needs to E-mail them for this feature. HH

I saw someone ask N. Tom why this wasn't already being done on detectors. His answer was something like, if my memory serves me correctly, our minds could not handle the information overload. Not in those exact words, but something to that effect.

I would be fine with it set like that, I run a pretty high disc. setting trying to avoid digging any trash or clad by only digging the deep stuff. I know I'll hear from someone not digging the clad is crazy but in old parks like these if you didn't do what I'm doing you could be digging clad and trash for 2 weeks straight without seeing any silver. HH

I would think you are losing quite a bit of depth running pretty high disc. Have you ever just hunted deeper targets by threshold wavers?

Not in this park as its way too trashy for that, I hear that running the disc. high will lose you depth but with the MXT it sure isn't much. Not sure how much it affects other detectors but I still can pull 10"+ dimes at that setting, when they get that depth you can't tell if its a deep wheat or silver dime before you dig though. HH
