A measurement would help, but it has the shape of a 45 acp?

Maybe these will help if you still aren’t sold on it being a .45 ... the two at the end I put the slug back into an empty casing (dug separately). As far as what gun it’s hard to say anything that shoots a .45. I’m still just learning about this stuff myself so I may be corrected but I think .45’s like this were first made in the early 1900’s around 1920 give or take.

Yep. .45 ACP FMJ by all appearances.

What shoots it are things like Colt 1911, Thompson M1928 machine pistols, US M3 machine pistol, Glock 30 & 36, Marlin Camp Carbine, S&W M1917, M25 and M625, etc.

Def a 45 acp round. That one is in good enough condition you could reload it and shoot it again.
