What makes a marble valuable

Colors and condition.
Look at Cairo marbles. MUCH more rare than any of the other companies of the time...but..bland,dull,flat, poor color schemes. The bulk of what they made is on white base with a single color.
Take an Akro cork
Solid colored base and a seperate solid colored cork, for the most pat, will sell for .50-3.00
Now, add a translucent base...value doubles...add an uncommon translucent base, price doubles again.
Size matters in SOME brands.
A pee wee akro or alley has no additional value. A peewee pelt ,same thing. Reelers sell for nothing.

Now, get an odd-ball size on, say a pelt. 1-3mm above norma, then you will see a double, triple or even more price hike.
Now, take that same odd ball size, add in 3 colors and you see a 100.00 marble.

There are several factors to be honest, but one commonality is that unless your marble is of the rarest color, size or pattern ....hammered marbles bring squat on the norm.
