Been thinking about hunting salt water beaches but don't know what machine to get. Our beach does contain some blacksand but not too bad. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Used to have a CZ6a that I sold years ago, found many gold rings with it, wish I still had it. Have been looking in the classifieds for one but everytime I see one for sale someone beats me to it. Thanks and HH.

Excalibur. Loved my first one so much (Excalibur 800) that I bought the 1000 for the 10" coil. Then I decided I was tired of packing it on the airplane every summer to take to the east coast where we vacation, so I bought an Excalibur II to keep there on the east coast. So, I sent my 800 to a guy who modified it with a 15" WOT coil waterproofed and hip-mounted. Now I've got all sorts of options for hunting beaches on either coast.

I researched a ton, and certainly could have gone with a different machine the second or third time around, but why mess with perfection? At least it is the perfect machine to me.

Good luck on your choice of beach machine, and best of luck on finding the gold!

I would look at whites or mine lab or j.w. fishers , But pick one you like to use for at lest 8 hours at a time . Thats how long you can spend looking for targets on the beach. ??? But it's all good
Pick one that makes you happy, and not one that looks good next to the door :laughing9: Pick one that you can use in fresh water and salt water , you can dive with , and hunt on land also . so pick a ( all around machine ) :icon_thumleft:
Good luck to you and happy hunting :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

EXCAL II there is no comparison

There is only one..........Excalibur. It is the only one that can respond to a gold ring with a iron nail thru it. Oh, the Sov GT will too, but it is the land version of the Excal.

My friend that I often go TH with has an Ecal II.

In our house my wife and I have Sand Sharks.

I have never tried his Excal, nor has he tried one of our Sand Sharks.

It does seem though that sometimes there are hits that the Excal doesn't see that the Sand Shark does, and times when the Excal picks up items the Sand Shark doesn't or has a difficult time getting a tone on.

The decision for us to go with Sand Sharks, was focused on having a decent salt water machines at a price that seems reasonable as newcomers to this adventure.

We also have our first detector, an Ace 250, which is what the wife sometimes uses instead of the Sand Shark if she plans her day to be in the dry sand and doesn't want to swing the heavier machine.

Without a doubt! :icon_thumleft:

I use mine like this on land and strapped to my leg underwater, it may be called a hip mount but i can't dig targets with it on my hip...I got it on EBay delivered for $624.00 hardly used and came with extra battery hip mount dive shaft and carrying case, also bought the book from that Canadian dude Clive which was very helpfull in teaching me how to use it. good luck and Happy Hunting !

I use the Whites Surf PI Pro and I love it. When you learn it you can identify Iron or cans, and goes plenty deep.
