Hi,
I made these two necklaces with two stones that I inherited from my mother. I am pretty sure they are Turquoise but I do not know what kind. Can anyone please identify them for me? Thank you, Wendy

They are turquoise I don't believe there are different types the color of turquoise is caused by the copper in the soil along with other elements. Some turquoise is color enhanced but yours looks like natural stone no enhancement except having been polished. You did a great job.I created a necklace for myself using stones I received from my brother to show a piece my handicapped cousin made.100_5895.JPGThe turquoise in mine I believe was color enhanced.

Turquoise is usually found right along with copper, so it looks to me like It's real. (natural). Was your mom out in the southwest at any time? Usually you'll find a lot of turquoise jewelry in Arizona, and New Mexico.(The Indians of the SW. are really into it.)

Here's a site that may help you identify what mine your turquoise came from.
