This is a good example of why pics of a rock in outdoor light is the best way to help with getting a rock identified. The color shift in the first two pics and the last three can make identity impossible, because of the color shifts that are very misleading. The one pic you took in the outdoor light is going to be the MOST accurate representation of what the rock really looks like. Still going to be tough to identify, but my guess is either a jasper/chert or possibly a low grade agate. Try a hardness and streak test to help us out!:thumbsup:

Well said about the photo's and lighting IAMZIM. I'm inclined more towards a jasper as a greasy feel was reported, a sign of chalcedony, and the coloration.
