What kind of rock is this?

I found this unusual rock at a park near my house and I pulled a tiny iron ball outside of the rock with tweezers. What kind is it?

Also, looks like a dark grey to black rock. Since you can actually see it in good light, with details in focus, can you tell us a little about it. Describe it. The color. How it does or does reflect or refract light. Texture. Visible crystalline structure. This would help.
