❓What kind of rock is it❓

I live near a road that it’s under construction so it is an oportunity for me to find stones. The stones originate from the river because of their smooth apearence. Also in my region there aren’t mountains so it is easier for them to bring stones from some sort of river.
There is also a portion of the road that is built with gravel. I don’t know Where it originated from. I found the stone in the gravel. What cought my attention was that the rock was cut with something and it shined bright red in the sun.

Garnet possibly, if your willing to try some simple tests like hardness and streak that could help with the ID.

Thanks for the tip, I have quartz that is 7 on the hardness scale and I read that garnet is 6.5-7.5 and it left a scratch in the quartz but not the suposed garnet.
