I didn't think that most British vehicles retained oil long enough that it needed to be filtered. ;-)

In British Vehicles, it's referred to as Factory Metered Leakage

I found this reference to a Cloud V8 oil filter and yours looks like the one in the first drawing. I am assuming it is for a Rolls Royce but can't swear to that.

Yes I would think early Rolls or Bentelys, that's what the guy had in his collection. Thanks for the link it looks similar but hope to get a positive ID as it might be something a Rolls guy might want. My last option will be to call british filters and see if they have old cross reference numbers but will hold off on calling Europe for now.
